Shut off the inlet water and open a flushing valve to relieve pressure. Push the filter head upward, turn the old cartridge to the left until it stops, and pull it downward. Align your new cartridge's lug with the label, insert it firmly into the head, and turn right until it firmly stops.
Pentair recommends replacing all filter cartridges annually, when the system's rated capacity is reached, or when water pressure or flow to the equipment becomes inadequate.
If the system is adequately flushed and the pressure is low, it could be due to insufficient inlet water pressure or a restriction in the line. If pressure drops suddenly while in operation, a cartridge change may be required. Check the pretreatment filter first before replacing the main carbon cartridges.
